Water – A Major Problem

Madagascar, and especially the southern part, is plagued by drought. To combat this, The Holy Metropolis has constructed 10 water storage tanks and drilled seven water wells. Additionally, we are trying to construct water storage tanks in remote, waterless villages. The water storage tanks are supplied by a water tanker, which was shipped from Greece in a container in 2010. This action of the Orthodox Church has been a saviour for us; however, it is still necessary to construct more water storage tanks.

Every installed water storage tank gives life to whole regions, and obviates the need for the inhabitants to have to travel endless miles for a bucket of water.
