For us, it's a small sacrifice; for them, it's a great gift!

Clothes – Food – Goods

Can you help us?

Most people reply 'yes'.

For our effort to be productive, it must be systematic and organized; thus, we invite you to donate the following items:

Clothes & Bedding

Clothes that are new or unworn with their labels attached or in their original packaging; alternatively, used clothes that are clean and in excellent condition. Bedding in the form of blankets, sheets, towels, and pillows.

Footwear

The shoes must be in excellent condition. Shoes without heels, flip-flops, and athletic shoes are suitable for Madagascar. Please place each pair of shoes in a separate plastic bag.

School Equipment

Stationery, school satchels, bags, backpacks, notebooks, pens, erasers, rulers, compasses, calculators,  coloured pencils, marker pens, graphite pencils, crayons, acrylic and water paints, pencil cases, photocopying paper, whiteboards, pupil's desks and chairs, student chair and desk combo, office desks etc.

Toys & Games

Toys and games in good working order. We do not accept bulky plastic toys or toys that are constructed with numerous small parts. If the toy or the game does not come its original box, please place it in a plastic bag.

Personal & Domestic Cleaning Materials

Soap (we prefer green soap or the cheapest package aromatic soaps); paper products (toilet paper, kitchen paper rolls, etc.), toiletries (tissues, shampoos, shaving foam, etc.); domestic cleaning materials (washing power, washing up liquid, etc.).

Foodstuffs

Oil (olive oil & corn oil), flour, sugar, spaghetti, rice, legumes, milk, canned foods, sweets, etc. The foodstuffs should have a long shelf life and be easy to transport.

Equipment for the Disabled

Walking frames, walking sticks, crutches, mobility scooters, wheel chairs, support frames, etc.

Miscellaneous

Baby pushchairs, prams, buggies and baby equipment, bicycles, sewing machines, bookshelves (dismantled and packed), chairs, plastic cups, glasses, and dishes, etc.

Church Items

Incense/Frankincense, carbon firelighters for censors, small candles, wooden icons, sacramental wine, sacred vessels, candleholders, bread holders, candlesticks, hexagons (depicting Seraphim) mounted on poles, censors, clean clerical clothing for small sizes - but no expensive clerical garments.

If the donor intends to buy any items, it would be greatly appreciated if the donor could contact us prior to making any purchases: we would then be able to inform the donor of those items that the Mission needs most. In addition, we cooperate with shops and factories that offer special discounts for items brought for the Mission.

Financial Assistance for the Mission

We thank you, because you have imbued us with confidence.

In times of hardship, many have helped us financially. Please also remember: it is not the size of the donation that matters. The Mission and the charity work done in Greece do not have any particular state or other official financial support.

This large-scale project is maintained by the widow's two small coins (Mark 12: 41 - 43), and more often than not, such donations come from people who cannot really afford to contribute rather than those who can. Financial support is essential because there are things that cannot be realised without it. The following are such things:

  • The purchase of land for churches, schools, orphanages etc.
  • The salaries of doctors, teachers, security guards, cooks, etc.
  • The maintenance of churches, schools, and buildings.
  • The payment of rents to the poor and the needy.
  • The construction of houses for the poor and the needy.
  • The construction and equipping of churches, spiritual centres, schools, and offices.
  • The purchase of medicines and the provision of hospitalization.
  • The purchase of milk and biscuits for breakfast for children in schools, and institutions.
  • The distribution of food.
  • The visits to remote villages for distributing essentials items.
  • The construction of water storage tanks.
