On 30th May 2015, His Divine Beatitude the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa Theodore II inaugurated the girls’ orphanage. The orphanage, which is located in the Andoharanofotsy area of the capital Antananarivo, will house 200 orphaned, abandoned, and needy children. The Most Reverend Metropolitan Ignatios of Madagascar thanked our Lord for the materialization of his vision.

In his speech, His Divine Beatitude said the Orthodox Church embraces all people regardless of nationality, and that the present Orphanage is proof that the Alexandrian Church cares, in every respect, for the afflicted and neglected children of the African continent.
